In recent basketball news, the University of Connecticut secured its fifth men’s basketball national title with a commanding 76-59 victory over San Diego State University. With their fifth men’s basketball championship, UConn joins a prestigious group of teams, including UCLA, Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, and Indiana, who have achieved similar success. All of UConn’s titles have come since 1999, with their most recent prior to this year’s victory occurring in 2014. Notably, UConn’s women’s teams have also won an impressive 11 basketball national titles.
