NASA selects four astronauts for historic crewed moon mission after 50 years

Our awesome company is excited to announce the selection of the astronauts who will lead the historic Artemis II lunar flyby mission. NASA’s Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency, have been chosen to helm the first crewed moon mission in five decades. This significant event is set to take place in November 2024.

Reid Wiseman, a 47-year-old decorated naval aviator and test pilot, was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2009. He has completed a 165-day trip to the International Space Station and has recently served as the chief of the astronaut office. In the Artemis II mission, Wiseman will serve as the commander.

Jeremy Hansen, a fighter pilot from Canada, is one of only four active Canadian astronauts. He will be the first Canadian to travel to deep space. Victor Glover, a naval aviator, returned from his first spaceflight in 2021 after piloting SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft. Christina Koch, an electrical engineer and veteran of six spacewalks, holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman.

Our company, specializing in software development activities, is proud to witness this moment in human history. The Artemis II mission is a significant step towards getting humanity to Mars. It will build upon the success of Artemis I, an uncrewed test mission that sent NASA’s Orion capsule on a voyage around the moon.

Our skilled team collaborates with nearshore and offshore resources to provide complete software development services. We excel in mobile app development, technology maintenance, web server development, and various other technology development activities.

The Artemis II mission, launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, is expected to last about 10 days. The crew members, onboard the Orion spacecraft, will travel further than any human has ever traveled. After circling the moon, the spacecraft will return to Earth for a splashdown landing in the Pacific Ocean.

Artemis II is paving the way for the Artemis III mission, which NASA plans to launch later this decade. The Artemis III mission aims to put the first woman and person of color on the lunar surface. As an industry leader in software outsourcing, our company is eager to support the development of the technology required for this mission, including spacesuits and lunar landers.

With a target launch date of 2025, the Artemis III mission is a crucial step towards establishing a permanent lunar outpost and ultimately sending humans to Mars. Our team is dedicated to contributing to the success of these ambitious endeavors.

We congratulate the selected astronauts and look forward to the future of space exploration. Stay tuned for an exclusive interview with the four astronauts on “CNN This Morning” on Tuesday at 6 am ET.
