McIntosh, the sixteen-year-old swimming sensation, has once again made headlines by breaking the world record for the 400m individual medley at the Canadian swimming trials. This remarkable feat comes just days after she shattered the world record for the 400m freestyle event. With a time of 4:25.87, McIntosh surpassed the previous record set by Hungarian swimmer Katinka HosszĂș back in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

This exceptional achievement adds to McIntosh’s incredible week, during which she also broke the 400m freestyle world record. Her time of 3:56.08 bested the previous record held by Ariarne Titmus. The young swimmer expressed her gratitude to the cheering crowd, highlighting the importance of their support, especially in the final stretch of her races.

Having made her mark at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics at the age of 14, McIntosh has continued to excel in various competitions. She clinched gold in the 200m butterfly and 400m medley at the 2022 world championships and secured two gold medals in the 200m and 400m medleys at the Commonwealth Games.
